What Is The Deadbeat Dad Law?

The Dead Beat Dad law is a law that refers to a parent that fails to make their obligatory support payments for their children. Legally the law is called Deadbeat Parent Law. The slang term Dead Beat Dad law has been used by many child support agencies because of the larger number of men who fall into the category of dead beat. The dead beat dad law has federal and state regulations attached to it. While each state has its own legal system for enforcing the law, all states must comply with the federal standards for the law. These federal rulings state that a statute of limitations cannot be applied to this law, even if a state allows this. It also states that back child support cannot be absolved in bankruptcy and that payments must be made regardless of the situation or physical capability of the non-custodial parent.

When Can I Get Enforcement Of A Non Paying Ex Spouse Under The Dead Beat Dad Law

Each state has different enforcement issues when it comes to the Dead Beat Dad law. If a parent becomes 3 months or more behind many states will suspend their drivers license. Other states will instantly revoke passports, issue warrants for their arrest or even start garnishment actions at this time. For accurate information you will need to check with your individuals states laws in regard to this matter.

Will Someone Prosecuted Under The Dead Beat Dad Law Go To Jail

It is possible for a man or woman to go to jail for failure to pay their child support. However, judges do realize that if the person is in jail they are unable to earn the money to make these payments. It is only in extreme cases, such as repeat offenders and people that flat out refuse to pay, that actual jail time is served. The court instead wants to make sure the payments are made and will issue garnishments or court regulated payments to ensure the support order is enforced.

  1. I exactly similar to numerous other males out there dislike this technique, it could have its flaws… get behind a day and feel it pretty much all year long, seriously.

Happiness & love for children. I think its a wonderfull ideal to burden a man with his personal obligation to his children by bringing in a bunch of creditors with federal and local juristiction. Lets take your tittle as dad & make you out to be a crimminal when things go south at home. 9 times out of 10 the mother gets custody & the father gets to foot the bill, as sad as it may sound my relationship with my child is based on how much money ive got and what drugs her mothers been taken that day i request a visit.. Oh i know report that stuff!! Yea tried that dont work out like that, seems the great state i live in has a soft spot for mothers of which abuse methamphetamine and pain killers.. I personaly dont use such things due to the fact that im obligated to support my babies momas habit…..no shit…. I look at it like it is, Give em enough rope! im waiting for my chance to send my payments to the county detention center & or the local psych ward… God bless America!!!!

My questions is, How in the world can I track down a dead beat dad that lives in another state, he works under the table, and will not give me his address. The thing is, he has to be served the child support letter, before the cock starts ticking on his support,in the mean time, Iam stuck!!!

  13. Tuck Law says:

There’s not much worse in this world than a father who doesn’t meet his financial obligations to his children. My wife’s brother is a complete piece of crap who loves to blow money on himself, but never has the time nor funds to take care of his children.

  14. the new girlfriend says:

My Ex is a dead beat dad who has nothing to do with his daughter. I left him 2 years ago because he liked to hit on me when ever he got the chance to. He constantly did pills and whatever other drugs he could find that he could hide, stole from me and my daughters one being his. then to top it off he’s only contacted her 2 times since he doesn’t see her or pay child support. Since a year after I left him I’ve been dating another guy he’s great he has 4 daughters and 4 grandkids he might be twice my age but to me it’s just a number. He’s the one who helps me with my kids he treats them like his own he works 5 and 1/2 days a week and still comes home to help me with the house work that I haven’t gotten done, helps cook and then spends the rest off the night after the eat get baths and off to bed with me talking and watching tv. His ex wife cheated on him all the time while they were together he worked out of state then. When he filed for divorce she turned his world upside down he loves his kids more than anything in the world it’s so bad that if he goes more than a week without at least talking to them he’s like a lost little kid. She doesn’t let him see his youngest she makes up any excuse she can so she can’t see him and when he does get to talk to her she makes sure that if it’s on the phone she screams at him calling him everything in the book besides a man. Women like this I don’t understand I would never do that to my girls it’s not right to them plus he pays her half of his check and this is still continuing. It’s messed up my ex off scot free I filed for child support from him over a year ago and nothing but they nail my boyfriend to the wall no slack at all guys like this I feel bad for can’t catch a break.

He live just under the wire so he can get out of it. It not right I going to school and take a buss to get my girl and he never even calls her I can’t believe men think that it ok and only pay when somone makes them sham on u.

And by no means am I suggesting that you need to eliminate all of
the junk food from your life forever, as if you eat healthy most of the time
then for most people it’s okay to “cheat” every now and then.
Drink a glass of water before your meals and snacks, you will feel fuller and eat much less than usual.

John Luessenhop’s “sequel” to Tobe Hooper’s nerve-crushing original from
